King of the Fairies, beloved of Titania.

The King of the Fairies and Titania’s husband. Oberon is willful and demands obedience from his subjects, including his wife. When he’s angry, he’s not above using magic and plots to manipulate and humiliate in order to get his way. Yet at the same time he also seems to like using magic to fix problems he sees around him, particularly those having to do with love. He’s had numerous extra-marital affairs. (Source) Oberon is initially at odds with his wife, because she refuses to relinquish control of a young Indian prince whom he wants for a knight. Oberon’s desire for revenge on Titania leads him to send Puck to obtain the love-potion flower that creates so much of the play’s confusion and farce. (Source)
